HOWE SOUND CURLING CLUB
The Howe Sound Curling Club was established in 1964 and relocated after a fire to Squamish Valley on Mamquam Road in 1984. The Club has four sheets of ice in great condition supported by a full Clubhouse, Restaurant and Lounge. The Club will celebrate its 25th Anniversary the weekend of November 12-14, 2010 with a Bonspiel and Dance.
The Curling program operates from October through March with a membership of over 250.
The Curling Season features: Lessons in October followed by League Play for all groups: Seniors, Women, Men, Mixed and Juniors and the traditional year end play downs in March.
In addition to league play, The Club stages Bonspiels in the Women, Men and Mixed categories.
The Club hosts corporate and charity bonspiels on weekends throughout the Curling season.
The Howe Sound Curling Club is the only curling facility north of Vancouver in Sea to Sky Country.
Curling is suited to both beginners and experienced players and accommodates singles, couples or teams of four. A minimum of equipment is required: a broom and non-slip shoes or a slider.
The Club installed new lighting during the 2009 off season.
CURLING WIND UP DINNER & DANCE
The Howe Sound Curling Club Wind Up Dinner and Dance is scheduled for Saturday, March 20th.
ANNUAL GOLF EVENT
The Annual Golf Event is scheduled for Saturday, May 8th.
OPEN HOUSE FRIDAY NIGHTS
The Howe Sound Curling Club offers an Open House to all curlers on Friday Evenings starting at 7:00pm. Great opporutnity to get back at it , hone your skills or check the sport out. An accredited instructor on duty. Fee is only $10 per person. No advanced sign up required.
